I created MaestrePaige.com because I believe learning Spanish should feel like an adventure, not a chore. After teaching preschool through 6th-grade Spanish in Oregon, I saw how deeply kids connect with language when it’s taught with music, movement, stories, and laughter - and how quickly they shut down when it isn’t. I knew I could do it differently.

So I built a space where kids learn Spanish through joyful, personalized online tutoring - no boring drills, no scripts, just real connection.

My Experience

My journey started back in high school, when I studied abroad in Chile and fell in love with Spanish. I went on to earn my BA in Spanish with a minor in Ethnic Studies of Latinx Cultures from Oregon State University, studying abroad again in Querétaro, Mexico.

After years in the classroom, I moved to Zihuatanejo, Mexico, and now offer private online tutoring from my sunny little corner of the world - sharing not just language, but culture, heart, and joy.

What age group do you tutor?

I currently work with students in grades Pre-K and beyond, with customized tutoring based on their age, ability, and interests. I specialize in engaging younger learners and also support high school students with Spanish coursework or those seeking to go further with the language.

Do you follow a specific curriculum?

Not a rigid one - I design each session to meet your child’s needs. My lessons are personalized, brain-based, and culturally rich, blending games, conversation, visuals, movement, and real-world Spanish.

How often should my child take lessons?

Most families choose 1–2 sessions per week, depending on their goals. I’m happy to help you decide during a free consultation.

Can you help my high schooler with their current Spanish class?

Yes! I offer high school Spanish support, including homework help, grammar review, test prep, and enrichment. Whether they’re struggling or passionate about excelling, I’ve got them.

What are the pop-up cultural field trips?

These are small group virtual events I offer exclusively to my tutoring families. Think cooking demos, art tours, or local excursions in Mexico - a fun way to connect language to real life. Invitations go out to current students on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Who will be teaching my child?

Me, Maestre Paige! I’m a bilingual Spanish educator with years of classroom and tutoring experience, a background in both early childhood and adult education, and a deep passion for joyful, inclusive language learning.

Is your tutoring LGBTQ+ inclusive?

Absolutely. I model inclusive, gender-affirming language in developmentally appropriate ways and create a safe, respectful space for all identities.

What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?

Life happens! I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule a session. No-shows or same-day cancellations may be charged the full session rate. We’ll review all policies together at the start.

How do I pay for lessons?

Payment is made directly on my website at the time of scheduling using Stripe, which processes most major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more.
